Rules on the use of cookies to collect personal data

Here you can find out what cookies are and how we use them on this website.

1. Network identifier policy

In providing its services and making content available to users of the https://www.cr-energetika.eu/ website (hereinafter the “website”), Česká Regionální Energetika a.s., company ID No: 045 49 295, with its registered office at Labský Palouk 495, Polabiny, 530 09 Pardubice, registered in the Commercial Register kept by the Regional Court in Hradec Králové under file No B 3507 (hereinafter “Česká Regionální Energetika a.s.”), uses various network identifiers, in particular cookies, tracking pixels and plugins, to ensure smooth and efficient use of the website.

For more information on the protection of personal data by Česká Regionální Energetika a.s., please refer to the document Information on the processing of personal data, which is available on the website.

2. What are cookies?

Cookies are small data files stored on your device by the internet browser you use. Without these files, using websites would be more complicated and less user-friendly. Cookies enable the websites you visit to remember related settings (e.g. the language you chose, login information, or any preferences for such website). If you return to the same website later, your browser will send it the associated identifiers. The website will thus retain your settings. Cookies make repeat visits to a website more user-friendly.

3. What are tracking pixels?

Tracking pixels (tracking pixels, pixel tags or web beacons) are small blocks of code installed on (or triggered by) a website, application or advertisement that can detect certain information about your device or browser such as device type, operating system type, browser type and version, pages visited, time of visit, referring pages, IP address and other similar data. Tracking pixels may also collect information about cookies that uniquely identify your device. Pixels are a way for third parties to set and read browser cookies from our domain and collect information about visitors to that domain.

(the following text about cookies also applies mutatis mutandis to tracking pixels)

4. What are plugins?

A plugin is a piece of software that cannot work independently but is an additional module of another application and extends its functionality. A plugin usually uses an application interface called an API. Many programs offer programmers the ability to use their APIs (application programming interfaces) with the ability to extend the functionality of the program offered. Typical examples of plugins are plugins for internet browsers that can, for example, block advertising, display incoming emails, etc.

(the following text about cookies also applies mutatis mutandis to plugins)

5. Types of cookies

Cookies are divided according to their duration of use, their necessity and the entity that places them on your device.

a) Cookies are divided into the following two categories according to their duration of use:

Short-term (session cookies), which are automatically deleted from your device as soon as you close your browser. These cookies are necessary for the proper functionality of the website in question.
Long-term (persistent cookies), which remain stored on your device for longer, depending on the settings of the internet browser you are using. You can manually delete persistent cookies at any time. These cookies help you navigate websites more easily.

b) Cookies are divided as follows according to their necessity:

Necessary, without which the website could not function – these are necessary for the transmission of information, e.g. to retain the contents of the shopping cart or to remember the user’s consent (or not) regarding cookie use.
Others, which are mainly used to facilitate the transfer of information, measure traffic or analyse the behaviour of website users. These are further divided into marketing, analytical and preference cookies.

Marketing – used to better target and personalise ads. These cookies track visitors across websites and collect information in order to deliver personalised ads.
Analytical/Statistical – these enable the tracking of visitors‘ interactions with website content and provide data on the number of visitors, the time spent on the website, etc.
Functional/Preference – these are used to improve the functionality of the website, as well as to make it easier to use, enabling the website to remember the user’s preferences and adapt to them (language settings, currency, etc.)
Performance – these enable an understanding and analysis of key website performance indexes, helping to provide a better user experience for visitors.

c) We divide cookies into two categories depending on which entity creates and stores the cookies on your device:

First-party cookies are created directly by the provider of the website you are visiting. These are most often used to provide basic website functions.
Third-party cookies are created by providers other than the provider of the website you are visiting. These are most often cookies from advertising service providers or cookies for analysing website traffic.

8. How can I adjust my cookie settings?

In connection with the change in legislation, websites can no longer use cookies without your active consent, as there has been a change from opt-out (your consent was assumed and had to be withdrawn) to opt-in (you need to actively give your consent). However, this does not apply to necessary cookies, which still work on an opt-out basis, so you can revoke your consent to them in your browser settings. As already stated in Article 2 to 4 of this document, consent or non-consent to the use of cookies is granted for a period of six months, after which the website will invite you to grant/not grant consent again.

A cookie banner has been added to the website for the purpose of obtaining consent to the use of cookies. This banner is divided into two layers. In the first layer, you can consent to the use of all types of cookies (by clicking on the „Allow all cookies“ button), allow the use of only the necessary types of cookies (by clicking on the „Decline optional cookies“ button) or click on the „Choose“ button to enter the second layer of the cookie banner, where you can consent to the use of individual types of cookies.

In the second layer of the cookie banner you will find a link to this Privacy Policy. Below you will find a list of cookies used by the website, divided by cookie type, and a list of relevant cookies falling under a certain type of cookie that expands when you click on the cookie type. Next to the cookie types, you will find a switch that is set by default so that you do not consent to the use of that type (except for necessary cookies). If you want to allow websites to use a certain cookie type, click on the relevant switch and actively consent by clicking on the „Allow selection“ button.

You can change your decision at any time during your use of the website by clicking on the „Cookie settings“ link at the foot of the website home page, whereupon the cookie banner will be displayed again, allowing you to decide whether or not to consent to the use of each cookie type. This consent/non-consent will again be valid for six months.

We need to inform you that if you do not consent to the use of certain cookie types, the quality of the website may be impaired and your use of the services provided by our website may be limited. These are the functions related to certain cookie types described in Article 5 above. You can change whether or not to grant consent in your browser settings.

If you block the collection and storage of cookies in your internet browser, we will no longer process any of your network identifiers or other information that can be obtained through cookies.

Detailed information about the settings for storing cookies in your browser can be found on the websites of the operators of the specific internet browsers.
